Ecastatic in Blue #5
by Darren Demaree
Or torn
by the moon
to keep pace
with the tide,
the trimness
of the long ride
home. Shudder
& rattle,
the wrong way
was to swallow
the salt, to dip
the lighter
into the waves
& still expect
real fire.
Darren C. Demaree is living in Columbus, Ohio, with his wife and daughter. His poems have appeared in numerous journals, including Meridian, Grain, The South Carolina Review, The Tribeca Review, and Whiskey Island. He is the recipient of two Pushcart Prize nominations.
